The Complications - This is one of the only watches to combine a jump hour and minute repeater complication - and the execution is perfect. The History - The Shaeffer line was released in the 1990s as an ode to John Shaeffer, a prominent collector from the 1920s. These cushion shaped models included perpetual calendar, star wheel and jump hour minute repeaters. Rarity - This example is one of only 25 pieces. These watches were rare when they were new and today many have disappeared in to serious collections. This is one of the coolest closures we have seen on a watch. This yellow gold watch made by French manufacturer UTI features a gorgeous, supple mesh bracelet which folds elegantly over the head of the watch, leaving an opening for the watch case to slide through. Once assembled, the user rotates a decorative motif from 6 to 12 o’clock, locking the watch in place.
