The #hope #RX #crankset is now installed. The #bottombracket is not installed with correct spacer configuration and I go through the process of setting up the compression ring to ensure there is no #lateralmovement or #creaking and #bearingwear is minimised.#gravelbike #bikepacking #rebuild…

In order to fix the #bottombracket spacing I have to remove the #crankset which it’s worth showing. There are a number of different ways the a crankset is removed which is dependent on the style of the #bottombracket, and the #brand. Again like so many bike components there is no single standard.

With any build it’s always worth taking your time and checking documentation; even more so when you are working on older frames or components. In this case the #bottombracket details on the website don’t match the current #crankset specification. Let’s play this out and see what needs to be…

It fits! Just! I knew this was going to be tight with a 140mm rotor but turns out the #brakeadaptor for the #internationalstandard frame mount to #postmount #brakecaliper will only work with a 160mm rotor. #gravel #gravelbike #bikepacking #rebuild #custombuild
