What is the “little sweet one?” Everyone knows Nebbiolo. Most wine lovers know Barbera. But what about the other, other Piedmont red grape? Meet Dolcetto. Despite its name, which means "little sweet one," Dolcetto is completely dry. Instead, it delivers vibrant blackberry, blueberry, and plum flavors with soft tannins and fresh acidity, making it one of Piedmont's most enjoyable wines to drink young. This is Casa E. di Mirafiore Dolcetto d'Alba, and it's a great reminder that some of Italy's most rewarding wines aren't always the most famous. One final tip: try serving it with a slight chill, about 20 minutes in the refrigerator. One of the coolest parts of wine travel is discovering the history behind the bottle. 🍷🛘 In France’s Loire Valley, that history is literally carved into the cliffs. 🇫🇷 These troglodyte caves were originally quarried for limestone used to build the region’s famous châteaux, and today many serve as natural wine cellars. One of the coolest moments from our “Bordeaux River Cruise” was bringing 60 members of our Vino VIP community to Château Lagrange for a private experience at one of Bordeaux’s great classified growth estates. 🍷 From walking the vineyards and cellar with the GM to tasting the château’s grand vin from the legendary 2010 and 2016 vintages, it was a special experience from start to finish! Quick facts about Château Lagrange 🍷 • Third Growth estate in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification • Located in the Saint-Julien appellation on Bordeaux’s Left Bank • Known for Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blends • Gravel soils help with drainage and Cabernet ripening • One of the larger classified growth estates in the Médoc • Particularly known for structured wines that overperform with age • Great Bordeaux vintages in the last few decades: 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022

This wasn’t just dinner… this was THE highlight of our Bordeaux River Cruise. 🍷✨ We brought 60 members of our Vino VIP community to Château Biac for a private evening that they will all remember forever. The night began with a walk through the estate and cellar, followed by an incredible cocktail hour featuring caviar, foie gras, jambon carved off the bone, tartare, and a few Lebanese touches from the Asseily family. Then came the long table. Lamb shoulder, ratatouille, cheeses, homemade Lebanese ice cream from Youmna, and wines paired throughout the evening including B de Biac, Château Biac, and their Sauternes-style Secret de Biac poured from an Imperial bottle. At one point, we surprised our travel agent Denise with an Imperial bottle of 2009 Château Biac, her anniversary vintage… and there were definitely some tears. The day was so special, and honestly, I got emotional too.
