Another new adventure in Brett’s life! ❤️ The hospital sent us home with a suction machine to help clean his mouth, remove excess saliva and mucus, and hopefully reduce his risk of aspiration. After pneumonia and sepsis, we're doing everything we can to keep him healthy! They want us to use it after every meal and drink. Let me tell you, that's a FULL-TIME JOB! 😂 Yesterday was exhausting, and I didn't even realize I had to cover the little hole on the toothbrush to make it suction! 🤦‍♂️ Dad's got a learning curve, but we'll figure it out! ❤️ Any caregivers use one of these? 🎈 Brett had a BLAST at the Poteau Balloon Fest! ❤️ Music, crowds, games, and hot air balloons lighting up the night sky! 😴 Nothing like getting woke up at 2 AM and being told we're moving to the 5th floor! 😂 Had to pack up everything, move rooms, and get Brett hooked back up to all his IVs and monitors. Looks like Brett is adding another piece of equipment to his collection! 😂❤️ Today we tried an oral care suction machine with all kinds of attachments, from toothbrushes to little foam sponges! Brett wasn't too impressed and kept trying to pull it away. 🤣 But with all the brushing we have to do after he eats and drinks, I can't blame him! They even have an attachment to suction boogers out of his nose! That might be a game changer! Running on fumes over here! 😂😴 Stayed up until 6 AM with Brett, slept 2 hours, then drove 2 hours to court and 2 hours back! I think I'm officially losing my mind! 😂🤦‍♂️ Lost the keys to my wife's Expedition while we're at the hospital with Brett. I KNOW where I put them… or at least I THOUGHT I did! Checked the same spot 20 times like they'd magically appear! 🤣 Finally called Pop-A-Lock. $362 for a new key fob! 😳💸 While I'm on the phone, I climb in the Expedition, hit the start button, and THE DANG THING STARTS! 🤯 That means the keys are in here SOMEWHERE! Tore that vehicle apart and found them INSIDE THE COVERS! 😂 How'd they get there? No clue! When did I put them there? Apparently my brain ain't telling me! We're finally making progress! 🙏❤️ After arriving at 6 AM, it's been a long day of tests, antibiotics, and waiting. 💔 We thought Brett was getting better, but we're back in the ER. A 102° fever, pneumonia, mucus plugs, and extremely elevated white blood cells. Now doctors are arranging a transfer to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa for specialized care. My boy has been through so much. All I wanted was a place for my son Brett to exercise. Instead, I ended up at the police station and courthouse. 💔 What started as an invitation to check out a gym turned into a frightening experience while I was caring for my son in his wheelchair. For once, the doctor's appointment was for ME and not Brett! 😂❤️ The dermatologist gave me some great news, but Brett had other plans! He spent the entire appointment yanking on the doctor's coat and trying to drag everybody out of there! 🤣 I'm pretty sure the doctor froze more than just my skin spots!
