This is little Angie in her homemade cat costume, sometime in the '80s. But with witches, you never know. 🐈‍⬛🎃✨ Halloween has always been special to me. It's not just a holiday or a season. It's a little piece of childhood, imagination, tradition, and happiness that I've carried with me all these years. And today, I get to share a little piece of that happiness with others. I get to create moments, spread a little magic, and hopefully make some childhood memories for the next generation. 🖤 Sometimes, after an event, I find myself laughing, crying happy tears, or just sitting quietly, taking it all in. Because you may see a book, a costume, a community event, or a group of people coming together, but I see so much more. I see the generosity of people willing to support my crazy ideas. I see families helping one another during times when everything seems to cost more and more. I see children getting to experience a little happiness, regardless of their family's circumstances. And somewhere in all of that, I see the little girl in this picture. 🥹❤️ I'm so grateful for this community and for everyone who has helped me turn these ideas into something real. You may never fully understand what your kindness means to me, but please know that it means more than I can put into words. So, whatever dream, idea, or crazy little plan you've been holding on to, I hope you give yourself permission to pursue it. Do it because it makes you happy. Do it because it means something to you. Do it for the little kid you once were, who didn't always know what the future would hold. Make that little kid proud. Give them a reason to smile. But most of all, don't forget to live a little for yourself and for them, too. Always be kind to yourself and others. And please, please, always stay weird. 🖤🎃✨

The day after a FREE BOOK FAIR…📚 You can never capture every moment. There are conversations that happen when the camera isn't on. Little interactions. Beautiful words someone shares with you. A smile you catch for just a second. A child finding a book. Someone walking away with a bag or a box of books. Free costumes. Crafts. Storytime. Laughter. Those moments don't always make it into the photos or videos, but they stay with me. And in the days after, I find myself remembering all those little moments and interactions — and thinking about how amazing it is that three different groups can come together and create something for our community and the surrounding communities. Sunday was HOT. 🥵 But when I think back on the day, I don't remember the heat. I remember the people. The books. The smiles. The laughter. The magic of giving people something simply because we can. And honestly, it makes my heart so full. 🥹🖤 I am so happy we were able to do this. What a fun-filled day! 🎃🖤 So many kids, pups, and families of all kinds came out to enjoy the Howl-O-Ween Haunted Harvest. That sentence has been living in my head since last week. Because this isn’t a thing I do. It’s not a season. It’s not a trend. It’s not an aesthetic. It’s me. This is my life. 🖤 The Witchy Little Library didn’t make me witchy. I’m a witch. The library just happens to carry that little piece of who I am right in its name. And I’m a whole person beyond the books, the library, the events and the witchy aesthetic. I’m Angie. I have A LOT of stories. 😂 Some are witchy, some ridiculous, some sad, some beautiful, and some are probably better told over coffee. People who have taken the time to stop, sit, chat and actually get to know me have heard a few. Someone once asked me why I fill the Montebello Mall Little Free Library. Want to know that story? Ask me. 🧙🏽‍♀️ Some people may misunderstand me. Some may never understand me. That’s okay. I’m not here to be everyone’s cup of tea. I’m here to be myself. And that little boy at the end of this video? 😂 He was just having the time of his life—laughing, being silly, a little mischievous and completely himself. A while back, an anonymous friend sent me a Michaels gift card through the Witchy Little Library wish list. No note, no name, just a little gift that eventually became part of the magic. Today that gift became a brand-new little detail at the Witchy Little Library. The garland that had been hanging on our main entrance gate for the last year (maybe a year and a half? 😂) had officially seen better days. It’s funny how the little things can make such a difference. The decorations, the colors, the tiny details… they help create that feeling when you walk through the gate... warm, welcoming, loving, and just a little bit of magic. For years, people have wondered… What’s inside? What do they do? Some have said, “Don’t cross that house. She’s evil. A witch.” Then I opened my home. I’m a little weird. A little shy. Some weekends leave you with more than photos and videos. They leave you with little moments. Conversations. New faces. Old memories. Things you didn't expect to think about, and somehow, they all find their way home with you. Last weekend was a little bit of everything - my son, the libraries, community events, artists, vendors, familiar places, new people, and music. And somewhere in between all of it, I found myself thinking about little Angie. I wish she had more access to things like this growing up. Art. Music. Books. Creative spaces. Community. People who could open a door, point her in a direction, or simply remind her that there was a whole world out there waiting for her. So when I show up now, when I'm being silly, making things, riding my bike, filling libraries, talking to strangers, listening to music, supporting artists, laughing, learning, and just being unapologetically me. I know she's right there with me. And she's happy. She's excited. She's proud. I live for her. And maybe that's part of why I care so much about creating little moments for the kids coming up behind us. Because you never know which book, song, artist, conversation, or kind stranger might light something up inside a child and make them think, “Maybe I can do this, too.” Those moments may never make it onto camera. The library may be closed, but library life doesn’t stop. 📚🚲💚 I didn’t realize I caught my emotions in that last little clip. 🥹 I had a beautiful conversation at Cudahy Park, and the artwork at the end was given to me by one of my followers. Those little moments mean more than people probably realize. They’re the things that keep me going and remind me that I’m on the right path, that what I’m doing matters to my community. 💚 Keep being effervescent. ✨ Keep creating, keep sharing, and keep putting a little more magic into the world. All jokes aside… there really isn’t a special way, specific rule, or secret formula. Just start. Be yourself. Have fun. It can be easy, hard, messy, and always changing. You don’t need a big story or to have everything figured out. What matters is that your heart is in it. I’m just being me. That’s really all I know how to do. 💚 I’m an educator, mom, wife, friend, neighbor, artist, and community member. I'm just enjoying my life and trying to make a little difference in my community.
