This quilt has a little after-dark magic 👻 Spooky season is upon us so it would only be fitting to stich out this Pumpkins & Potions Ladder Quilt from @kimberbelldesigns with our glow in the dark thread, Ahrora, for some extra supernatural effect when the lights go out! 🎃 And for some extra pop in the embroidery of the border, we used Polyfast, a 40wt trilobal poly, that gives it the right amount of sheen — because the details deserve to shine with the lights on too! ✨ Where would you add glow in the dark stitches: a Halloween quilt, a costume, or something completely unexpected? . . . #wonderfil #wonderfilspecialtythreads #halloween

Why hide the edge if you’re already hand stitching it? We used Tutti 50wt here so the stitching could stay visible. The variegated colour changes as you work around the edge, so you get more variation without changing threads. Would you keep it close to the fabric colour or go for contrast?

🧵 How to sew an exposed zipper ✨️ Exposed zippers are a fun way to turn your simple zipper into a stylish embellishment on any sewing project. We used DecoBob™️ 80wt, as well as Spagetti™️ 12wt for bold, decorative topstitching details. Iron ’N Fuse™️ definitely came in handy for securing the zipper in place while sewing. Simply activate it with an iron for a temporary bond that prevents the zipper from shifting, for a neat, precise stitching.
