A little humor, but truly… shoutout to every RBT who’s had one of those mornings and still shows up with patience and care 💛 • • • #BCBA #RBTAppreciation #ABAHumor #BehaviorAnalysis #ABACommunity

Just your average supervision: I walk in thinking I’m just checking in… and 60 seconds later, we’re troubleshooting data collection, rebuilding visuals, and revisiting DRO vs. DRA. All while pretending I’m not lowkey spiraling. 🥲 But honestly? I love that my RBTs feel comfortable bringing all of it to supervision. That’s what it should be. Collaborative, supportive, and a little chaotic. We’ll figure it out. We always do. 🫶🏻 • • • #BCBAlife #SupervisionVibes #RBTsupport #BehaviorAnalysis #ABAhumor #OrganizedChaos #ThisIsSupervision #FYP #SpiralingTogether #ABAprofessionals

The conversation around rewards in ABA is often presented as all or nothing. Either rewards are “bad,” or they should be used for everything. The reality is much more thoughtful than that. We forget that reinforcement isn’t unique to children or to ABA. We all repeat behaviors because something about them is worthwhile. A paycheck, finishing a workout, crossing something off a to-do list, hearing “I’m proud of you”... those are all forms of reinforcement. One concern I hear often is that rewards will replace intrinsic motivation. The goal isn’t to replace intrinsic motivation with rewards. It’s to help children experience enough success that confidence, independence, and the natural benefits of a skill begin to take over. Whether you’re navigating ABA therapy or simply looking for strategies that support your child, I hope this reminds you that reinforcement isn’t about creating dependence. When it’s used thoughtfully, it’s about helping children build skills they can carry with them long after the reward is gone. 🧡 • • • #aba #autism #parentsupport #reinforcement #behavioranalysis

¿Les ha pasado? 🥹 Los niños son increíbles. Un momento difícil no define el resto de su día. A veces, cinco minutos después, ya te están dando un abrazo, un besito o simplemente buscando estar cerquita de ti otra vez. 🤍 — Kids are amazing. 💛 A difficult moment doesn't define the rest of their day. Sometimes, just five minutes later, they're giving you a hug, a kiss, or simply wanting to be close to you again. • • • #ABA #BehaviorAnalysis #BCBA #rbt #ABAEnEspañol

The newer ABA professionals were robbed of the experience of carrying around client binders the size of textbooks!!! 💀 Technology may test my patience sometimes, but digital data collection was one upgrade I fully support. 😅 • • • #ABA #BCBA #RBT #BehaviorAnalysis #ABAHumor

Apologizing can be an important social skill. But I don’t want “sorry” to become the finish line. Instead of focusing only on the words, we can help children learn how to repair. That might sound like: 💛 “Let’s check if they’re okay.” 💛 “What can we do to help?” 💛 “Can we fix it together?” 💛 “Would you like to try again?” Sometimes accountability looks like rebuilding the tower that was knocked down. Sometimes it looks like helping clean up a mess. Sometimes it looks like checking on a friend. The goal isn’t to get a child to say “sorry.” It’s to help them build empathy, responsibility, and relationship repair skills. 💌 • • • #BehaviorClaud #PositiveParenting #ABA #ChildDevelopment #parentingsupport

If you’ve spent time in the neurodiversity community, you’ve probably heard the phrase “presume competence.” When we talk about presuming competence, we mean approaching autistic and neurodivergent individuals with the assumption that they are capable of understanding, learning, communicating, and participating; even if they communicate or respond differently than expected. It means speaking to them with respect, acknowledging all forms of communication, and not limiting opportunities based on assumptions. Presuming competence doesn’t mean ignoring support needs. It means believing someone is worthy of access, dignity, and meaningful inclusion from the start 🤍 • • • #PresumeCompetence #BCBA #AutismSupport #Neurodiversity #abatherapy

FABA 2025!! 📉🌀🫧 Three days of learning, connecting, and coming together to make ABA the kind of field we’re proud to be part of. From inspiring talks to shared laughs and late-nights, it reminded me why this community matters, and why growth is always better together. Parenting takes heart, patience, and strength. We see you. We’re here to support, not judge. We’re on your team. As a BCBA, I want to remind you of three things that often get lost in the chaos of daily life. Setbacks are part of the process. Feeling exhausted doesn’t make you a bad parent. And perfection? Not the goal. 🤍 We’re here to walk with you. Cheering you on through every step, stumble, and victory. • • • #BehaviorClaud #ParentingWithSupport #ABAParentTips #NeurodivergentKids #BCBAlife #ParentingWins #CompassionOverCompliance #GentleParenting #EmpoweredParenting #ABAWithHeart #ProgressNotPerfection #RelationalABA #NormalizeRegression #ParentSupportMatters #PlayfulParenting

POV: You’re a BCBA defending a treatment plan to convince insurance that services are “medically necessary.” It still blows my mind that we have to justify things like teaching a child to communicate or helping reduce self-injury, but here we are. Insurance is part of the process, and learning how to navigate it is essential if we want to get services approved. Honestly, this wasn’t something I was formally trained on in grad school. Writing strong plans, using the right language, choosing assessments. It’s all been stuff I’ve had to figure out along the way through trial, error, and support from other BCBAs. So if you’re still figuring it out too, I get it. I created a free tool to help you choose assessment tools that can guide your goals and might make your process just a little easier (link in bio). 🤍💫 • • • #bcbalife #abaproblems #treatmentplanning #medicallynecessary #insuranceapproval #abacommunity #autismservices #behavioranalysis #behindtheBCBA #bcbatips #ethicalaba #behaviorclaud #earlyintervention #abatherapy #playbasedlearning #childledplay #therapistsoftiktok

Burnout isn’t a badge of honor. It’s a signal that something needs to shift. Whether you’re a parent, therapist, teacher, or caregiver, constantly pushing past your limits doesn’t prove your dedication—it chips away at your well-being. 💡 Over 70% of people in helping roles report moderate to high levels of burnout. And that impacts you and the people you care for. Let’s normalize rest, boundaries, and sustainable practices, for ourselves and for the ones we show up for every day. 🤍 You don’t have to earn your rest. You deserve it. ✨ Take care of you, too. ✨ • • • #BurnoutIsNotABadge #HelpingProfessionals #ParentLife #CaregiverSupport #WorkLifeBalance #MentalHealthMatters #BehaviorClaud #BCBAlife #SustainableABA #ABATok #HealingOverHustle #YouDeserveRest #compassionstartswithyou

My favorite time of day. ✨ Kids playing, their giggles and little feet running around, pure joy and connection. I love what I do more than words can say. This job saved me in ways I never expected. Working with these kids helped me heal parts of my inner child I didn’t even know were broken. It’s messy. It’s hard. And on the days I’ve thought about giving up, I hold on to those moments. The laughs, the breakthroughs, the trust. That’s when it hits me: this is exactly why I do what I do. 🤍 • • • #BCBAlife #InnerChildHealing #ChildLedTherapy #RawAndReal #ABAwithHeart #HealingThroughPlay #BehaviorClaud

Safety tools for kids who love to explore! 🔍 For kids who elope or have limited safety awareness, these tools can help create a safer environment while still respecting their need for independence: 💡 AirTags + secure accessories – Attach to lunchboxes, clothing, or backpacks for extra peace of mind during field trips and outings. 💡 Child safety ID band – Another great option for crowded places or busy environments. 💡 Seat belt lock cover – Prevents kids from unbuckling their seat belt or booster seat while in the car. 💡 Door guards & stoppers – Perfect for kids who slam doors or tend to lock themselves in rooms. 💡 Retractable gates – Helps keep areas like stairs or off-limit spaces safely out of reach. 💡 Combination locks for appliances – A must-have for little problem solvers who always figure out how to open traditional locks! 💡 Gas stove knob covers – Prevents little hands from accidentally turning on burners. 💡 Door chime – Can be used on outside doors or even a child’s bedroom door to alert you if they wake up and wander at night. 💡 Plug covers & corner covers – Extra protection for little ones who explore everything within reach. All items are linked in my bio, along with a few additional recommendations! 🔗 Save this for later & share with someone who might find it helpful! 💖 • • • #aba #positiveparenting #autismsupport #neurodiversityaffirmingaba #behaviortips #parentingwins #behaviorsupport #abastrategies #independentplay #neurodiversityaffirming #bilingualbcba
