A castle, Ireland’s tallest treehouse, a giant telescope, waterfalls, gardens and a science museum… all for €35 for a family of 4 🤯 It really is a full day out. You need to add this one to your summer bucket list 🏰🌳 @Birr Castle Demesne 🌳 #FamilyDaysOutIreland #HiddenGemsIreland #IrelandWithKids #IrishKidsTravel #Offaly

📍 Loop Head Peninsula If you love dramatic cliffs but hate the crowds, this is your spot. You’ll get the same wild Atlantic views as the Cliffs of Moher, but with far fewer people around. There are quiet walking trails, a lighthouse you can visit, and plenty of places to safely take in the views at your own pace. It feels much more raw and untouched. 📍 Beara Peninsula Often overlooked for the more famous Ring of Kerry, Beara is just as scenic—arguably even more rugged. Think winding coastal roads, colourful villages, and mountain passes without the tour buses. It’s perfect if you’re road-tripping and want that “hidden Ireland” feel. 📍 Downhill Strand A huge stretch of golden beach backed by cliffs, with incredible views in every direction. It’s far less crowded than more famous coastal spots, and you can even drive along the sand in some areas. The nearby clifftop temple adds a unique, almost cinematic feel. 📍 Cahir Castle One of the best-preserved castles in Ireland, but surprisingly quiet compared to Blarney. You can actually explore inside without long queues, making it much more enjoyable—especially if you’re visiting with kids. It feels like stepping into a real medieval setting. 📍 Glenveagh National Park Located in Donegal, this park is remote, wild, and absolutely stunning. Expect mountains, lakes, and wide open landscapes with very few crowds. It’s ideal if you want a slower, more peaceful experience in nature. 📍 Achill Island Connected to the mainland by a bridge, Achill is easy to reach but still feels like a true escape. You’ll find dramatic cliffs, beautiful beaches, and scenic drives—all with more space to explore compared to the Aran Islands. 📍 Stoneybatter (Dublin) If you want a more authentic Dublin experience, skip the tourist-heavy areas and head here. It’s known for its great food spots, relaxed pubs, and local feel. Perfect for a more laid-back evening. 📍 Inishowen Peninsula One of Ireland’s best-kept secrets. This northern peninsula offers incredible coastal scenery, historic sites, and quiet roads. It’s part of the Wild Atlantic Way but sees a fraction of the visitors. 📍 Glenmalure Valley Just a short drive from Dublin, this valley is perfect for a peaceful escape. Surrounded by mountains, it’s great for hiking and feels much less busy than Glendalough. Ideal if you want nature without the crowds. #travelireland #irishkidstravel #thingstodoinireland #placestosee #ireland
