Come along for the @Taylor Swift takeover! Well written, well produced, good graphics and audio, great lighting! A director’s dream of a little segment! #swiftie #taylorswift #fyp #showgirl

What do you do when the tape isn’t cut how you thought it would be? We often run into ideas that we have in the commercial break before. Sometimes tapes are cut with one idea in mind and then when we start to hash it out another idea pulls in for the win. @jtowerone and I work so well together, we…

What I see in the control room vs. what you see on the screen. Shoutout for my AD’s cues at the end.🔥 Camera compliment below! I loved getting to work with @marenmorris and her team on this performance for @CBS Mornings (Saturday!) Her song “The Bones” has such a special place in my heart around…

Gearing up for the show we cram in a bunch of last minute comms between graphics, playback, the floor, etc. This is just a little #behindthescenes compilation of the convos I have before the show. While I communicate all day with my team, these all happened within the last 7 minutes to air around…

All in a day… This was our B block. We were a little light so we ran a promo, we had some reaction and then beautifully hit the hard wall without smashing into it. It’s so nice when it happens that way and the show is clean across the board! Once we hit commercial we were able to restore the…

How many conversations does it take to get a #birthday surprise to happen live on air? The answer is way more than even I thought. Normally I would have one main convo in my morning meeting but Birthday Boy to be @Nate Burleson came down and was on set before I could even get to that part of the…

Today wasn’t a first, but it was a documented first. We had to do a live Mic Swap for @Nate Burleson on the air during our interview for @CBS Mornings about @Taylor Swift The audio team made it happen and the show went on! Team work makes the dream work #taylorswift #taylor #swiftie #live #director

5 minutes to air for @CBS Mornings #director #live #tv #morningshow #onair #cbs #behindthescenes

We had a Plan A, the package lands covered at playout. FAIL! Plan B- we roll the covered package from an Edit room. FAIL! I have never laid graphics into a package live during a broadcast- in my mind it’s a Huge risk! But when the lead piece on the @CBSEveningNews was 3 minutes long and missing 2…

My lighting team really nailed this setup with @Joseph for their performance on CBS Saturday Morning! #reel #live #tv #music #behindthescenes

Preshow is a grind! There is a ton of production going on from 4a-7a. We go through graphics, music, camera rehearsals, tech checks and more. Im so grateful to my crew for delivering a solid show week in and week out! #director #reel #onair #live #behindthescenes #camera #tv #livetv

Anyone thay knows me in this space knows that i love to cut quickly and on the beat. It makes it fun, challenging, unique! But sometimes you have to trust your gut and your guy and let them take over! Kudos to my Jib op Jared for nailing the shot! #onair #music #live #bailen #director @bailentheband

I have a GREAT relationship with my EP, Brian. He usually is hands off and lets me have all control when it comes to directinf the show. But there are times when he likes to pick fun at me. When i asked him why he loved this live take so much he said laughing it was because the rehearsal was not…

Live is LIVE, my friends! It was too funny not to post. It happens sometimes. Let this be your friendly reminder that everyone is human! #director #reels #oops #funny #onair #live #behindthescenes

Our morning show is different from most because we shoot in The Round! It allows for great over the shoulder reaction shots and a larger number of shots to work with! Its tricky but so cool to do something different that lets you feel as if you are part of the conversation instead of being talked…

Getting to work with @syml has been a dream come true! Brian is so talented and I have been a huge fan for a while. Check out our performance of “Where’s my Love” from this past Saturday on @cbsmornings #director #syml #wheresmylove #reels #livemusic #onair #behindthescenes

If you haven’t heard of @Aoife O’Donovan then listen up! Loved every second of her performance on @cbsmornings this morning! She’s a force to be reckoned with! #director #livemusic #onair #behindthescenes #controlroom #music #cbs

Who said a slow song hand to mean low energy? @Thee Sacred Souls kept me on my toes all morning! A blast to shoot- their energy is infectious. #director #music #onair #behindthescenes #controlroom #cbs #live

Keep the beat any way possible! When three badasses are all the leads you want to represent them all equally within the song. @whereismuna was a blast and definitely one of my favorites to date. Check out their performance from this morning’s show! @cbsmornings #director #muna #behindthescenes…

Just when I thought I was going to be a calm, composed director and stay seated… jokes on me. Can’t help standing and moving to keep the beat - the band’s energy drives my vibe and I’m here for it! I loved this morning’s performance with @Bartees Strange on @cbsmornings #d#director #onair…

Behind the scenes from Control Room 1515 for @cbsmornings performance last week with the badass @Nikki lane! She was definitely a mover and a shaker, which I love! It’s fun and challenging to keep up with a performer like this. But as a smart camera op once taught me, you have to rethink how you…
