I am so excited to announce “Good Grief: Stories and Song”, a three day installation and performance series, free and open to the public, taking place THIS WEEKEND, August 28th - 30th, 2026 inside Lincoln Center Theater’s Christopher Lightfoot Walker Lobby at the Vivian Beaumont (150 West 65th Street).   In collaboration with my partners The Strangers Project, we plan to fill the LCT’s gorgeous space with story and song, an immersive experience highlighting our shared humanity and our collective need for sharing.    Hundreds of stories from The Strangers Project — an ongoing collection of anonymous, handwritten true stories shared by strangers since 2009 — will be on display and intermingled with audio recordings from my fans who I recently invited to share their stories of grief. My hope is to create an invitation to the general public to interact and receive what is offered, and then gift their own stories to deepen the growing conversation.   Oh, and I will be playing some songs for you on a magnificent Steinway Spirio piano at the following times (Friday @ 6:30pm, Saturday @ 4:30pm, Sunday @ 1:30pm). I am over the moon to share that Sara Bareilles: Good Grief, the documentary made by my dear friend Josh Alexander about my life and making the new album, will be screening at theaters nationwide on SEPTEMBER 2ND!! The film is an intimate observation of the making of what has turned out to be my most vulnerable and personal project to date, and I'm so proud to share it.   We made a film that feels like a sister piece to the album, something that makes the music richer and deeper.  If you are coming to the GOOD GRIEF tour, I really believe that seeing this movie in a theater with friends, loved ones, and fellow fans will enrich your experience of seeing the live show, and whether you come to the tour or not, it will make listening to the album come more alive for you. STILL CRYING IS OUT NOW! The seeds of this song were planted in 2020, in a moment of great fear and worry, and they finally came into full bloom at Aaron Dessner’s studio in upstate New York just last year. With Aaron's help, we made one of my favorite songs on the record. I often think about how dynamic it is to be so attuned to emotional states of being. How in order to feel the ecstatic of the highs, you must also deeply feel the ache of the lows. This song is for those of us who find ourselves in the depths maybe more often than we'd like. With the beloved Kimmy Gatewood directing, the literal dream team assembled to make this music video and there is nothing but love on screen and off. It was a true miracle, and Kimmy said to me at wrap: "Sara, you called me with this idea 13 days ago.” We go big and go home, people. Thank you to my sweet friends and total STARS: John Lutz, Lonely Girl, Sweetie Pie, Janine Brito, Joe Tippett, Daniel Breaker, Celisse Henderson, and Jenny Bareilles for gifting me with your talent and presence and great vibes. “Home" is out now. It was inspired by a vulnerable and honest conversation about grief between @Anderson Cooper and Stephen Colbert that really resonated with me. Hearing their stories of loss, I started feeling more courageous to tell mine. "Tell me your story, I'll tell you mine." For me, this encapsulates the message of this record - sharing the thing that's the most true, and through that building threads of connection between you and the people around you. It's why we're all here.

Keep the Novocain out of my wisdom teeth I want to feel it all… Words feel small when talking about the transcendent love story that takes place in Ryan White’s portrait film of the two poets- Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley. Come See Me In The Good Light is a film about loving the life we are given- and Andrea’s particular superpower in finding delight in dark places as they navigate a terminal cancer diagnosis. The film is available this FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14th on @Apple TV and I’m so honored to be a part of the family bringing it to you. To complete the film, @Brandi Carlile and I were invited to use Andrea’s unfinished poems to create an original song. It was the honor of a lifetime and as easy as breathing to write a love song for Andrea and Meg…with Andrea’s words, and so in honor of the film, we will release SALT THEN SOUR THEN SWEET this Friday!!
