Follow @theadeolacrown for more day trip ideas from NYC! Adventure with Adeola Part 5 >>> Day Trip from NYC Looking for an easy escape from the city? Croton-on-Hudson is the ideal spot for a quick day trip, offering stunning nature, small-town charm, and delicious food, all just an hour from NYC! Save this post for your next adventure! We kicked off the day by hopping on the @mtametronorth train from Grand Central Terminal to Croton-Harmon. The ride is smooth, scenic, and takes about an hour. From Croton-Harmon, we took a short 10-minute Uber ride (around $10) to Croton Gorge Park. Croton Gorge Park is home to the biggest dam in New York, and it’s an absolute must-see. We spent a couple of hours exploring the park, checking out the waterfall at the base, and then hiking up to the top of the dam for breathtaking views of the surrounding area. It’s a peaceful spot to relax, have a picnic, or just take in the scenery. Entry to the park is free, making it a budget-friendly stop. After soaking in the views, we headed back to town. Our first stop? @bluepigcroton This cozy ice cream shop is famous for its homemade flavors, and it did not disappoint! We continued exploring the town, which has a charming, laid-back vibe, before making our way to the @crotoncolonialrestaurantdiner This place is a true classic one of the oldest diners still standing. The menu is huge, and the food is delicious, with prices that won’t break the bank. To wrap up our day, we caught the @amtrak back to Penn Station @moynihantrainhall enjoying a relaxing ride after a day full of adventure. Whether you’re a nature lover, a foodie, or just need a break from the city hustle, @villageofcroton Hudson has something for everyone. Follow me for more travel tips and day trip ideas around NYC! #daytripfromnyc #nycdaytrip #nycdaytrips #crotononhudson #metronorthrailroad #amtrak #hudsonline

Quick hotel tour of where I stayed in Edinburgh! 🏨🏴 📍 ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge Not the prettiest hotel, and the rooms are pretty basic, but the LOCATION? 10/10! 📍 Right in the heart of Old Town, walking distance to the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, restaurants, and major attractions. Perfect for solo travelers and first-time visitors who care more about convenience than luxury. Would I stay here again? Absolutely!

WHY are people so obsessed with proving that this woman is unworthy of her own husband? What makes being born into royalty the ultimate prize for every woman? Harry chose Meghan, but MEGHAN CHOSE HARRY TOO! She had a career, her own money, accomplishments, and a whole life before becoming a duchess. Why do people act like marrying a prince was the only thing that could give her value? And why must Catherine be praised by tearing Meghan down? Two women can exist without constantly being compared. You don’t have to like Meghan. You can disagree with her decisions. But the obsession with convincing everyone that she’s undeserving of love is disturbing. A royal title doesn’t automatically make someone a better person or partner. And perhaps Meghan could have done better, too. Ever thought about that? 👀 My question is: Why do we always ask whether a woman deserves a powerful man, but rarely whether that man deserves her? #MeghanMarkle #PrinceHarry #RoyalFamily

One of the most magical Halloween experiences in New York is back! 🎃🍂✨ If you’re looking for a fun fall activity or a Halloween-themed day trip from NYC, add the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze to your bucket list! Imagine walking through more than 7,000 illuminated jack-o’-lanterns transformed into giant sculptures, glowing displays, and incredible installations. 😍 This year, I decided to try the FLEX PLUS experience, and here’s what it includes: 🎃 Flexible admission on any operating night, even when regular tickets are sold out. 🍎 A complimentary food item and drink from the courtyard café. 🍷 Gourd & Goblet Tavern: Step inside an 18th-century tavern for festive drinks, sweet and savory bites, table service, and a souvenir. 👻 Headless Horseman’s Hideaway: Enjoy a themed drink, popcorn, candy, and appearances by the Headless Horseman himself! ✨ Both premium experiences are included, with no separate reservations required. 📍 Where: Van Cortlandt Manor, 525 S Riverside Ave, Croton-on-Hudson, NY 📅 When: Through November 8, 2026 🚆 Getting there: Take Metro-North’s Hudson Line from Grand Central to Croton-Harmon, then a short taxi or rideshare to the venue. 🎟️ Tickets: Advance booking required. Visit hudsonvalley.org or check @hudsonvalley. Whether you’re planning a fall date night, girls’ night out, or solo adventure, this is one Halloween experience worth adding to your NYC fall bucket list! SAVE this for later! 🍁 Would you try the FLEX PLUS experience or stick with general admission? 👀🎃

Looking for a fall day trip from NYC without a car? SAVE THIS! 🚆🍁 Who knew you could take a train from NYC and end up walking through beautiful fall foliage like this?! I took Metro-North from Grand Central to Brewster, NY, and in just 90 minutes, I was exploring Putnam County! If you love scenic walks, fall foliage, and charming small towns, add this to your fall bucket list. Here’s how to plan your own trip: 🚆 GETTING THERE: Take Metro-North’s Harlem Line from Grand Central to Brewster. 🍁 PUTNAM TRAILWAY: A scenic paved trail perfect for walking, running, or biking. Follow the trail from Brewster toward Carmel Hamlet. 🌿 MIDDLE BRANCH RESERVOIR: Beautiful water views surrounded by fall foliage. One of my favorite stops! 📍 CARMEL HAMLET: Explore Lake Gleneida, the Row of Honor honoring local veterans, and the Sybil Ludington Monument. 🍽️ GEORGE’S PLACE: Stop for lunch after exploring the trail. 🍦 SCOOPS N MORE: You HAVE to try their cider mill ice cream! Absolutely delicious! 😍 🚕 GETTING BACK: I took an 11-minute Uber from Carmel to Brewster station, then Metro-North back to Grand Central. Arrange your return ride in advance when possible. Whether you’re planning a solo date, girls’ trip, or an outdoor adventure with your walking or running club, this is such a fun way to experience fall outside NYC! 📌 SAVE this for your next fall day trip! 💬 Would you walk, run, or bike the Putnam Trailway? 📍 Putnam County, New York #HudsonValley #nycdaytrips #nycdaytrip

3 fall day trips from NYC when you want apple picking, cider donuts + all the fall vibes 🍎🍂 Save these because all three can be done from NYC — with or without a car. 🍎 1. Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm — Yorktown Heights, NY Apple picking, pumpkin picking, a corn maze, farm markets, fresh cider + those cider donuts. No reservation is required for regular pick-your-own apples in 2026. 🚗 About 1–1½ hrs from NYC, depending on traffic. 🚆 Metro-North Hudson Line from Grand Central → Croton-Harmon or Peekskill, then about a 15-minute Uber/Lyft to the farm. 📍 1335 White Hill Rd, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598 🍂 2. Grace Farms — New Canaan, CT This is the one for a slower fall day: explore the gorgeous River building, walk through the 80-acre preserve, see the art and architecture, and stop for tea or coffee. General admission is free, but advance registration is required. 🚗 About 1½ hrs from NYC, traffic depending. 🚆 Metro-North New Haven Line from Grand Central → New Canaan (some trips require a change at Stamford), then take a short taxi/Uber/Lyft to Grace Farms. 📍 365 Lukes Wood Rd, New Canaan, CT 06840 🍎 3. Fishkill Farms — Hopewell Junction, NY One of my favorites for the full fall-farm experience: apple + pumpkin picking, cider donuts, wagon rides during Harvest Festival weekends, food, live music and Treasury Cider. Pick-your-own requires a reservation. 🚗 About 1½ hrs from NYC — the farm itself gives that estimate. 🚆 Metro-North Hudson Line from Grand Central → Beacon, then approximately a 15-minute taxi/Uber/Lyft to the farm. 📍 9 Fishkill Farm Rd, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533 This is Fall & Halloween Files 10/15 🍂🎃 — I’m sharing 15 fall + Halloween experiences worth adding to your list. Which one are you choosing: 1, 2 or 3? 🍎👇

Would you actually spend the night in this haunted castle? 👻🏰 My friend and I stayed inside the Haunted Castle at Adventure Suites in New Hampshire, and this is definitely not your normal hotel room. 😂 The entire castle is designed as a simulated haunted overnight experience. Things move, characters appear, lights change and scares can happen when you least expect them. It uses motion sensors, projections, audio, video, pneumatics and other effects throughout the castle. And this place is HUGE: 🏰 5 levels 🛏️ 3 bedrooms 🚿 3 full bathrooms ♨️ 5-person outdoor hot tub 🍳 Full kitchen 🍸 Catwalk bar 🌉 Drawbridge 👻 Sleeps up to 18 people Current rates start at $999/night for 1–2 people Sunday–Thursday. Friday and Saturday rates start at $1,299 for 2, and additional guests are generally $50 each for the Haunted Castle. Rates can increase during peak periods. If the Haunted Castle is a little TOO spooky, Adventure Suites has a bunch of other themed rooms too — including The Cave, Treehouse, Dragon’s Lair, Log Cabin, Victorian Spa, NY Penthouse and more, with current starting rates from $239/night. 📍 Adventure Suites 3440 White Mountain Highway North Conway, NH 03860 This is Fall & Halloween Files 09/15 🍂🎃 — 15 fall + Halloween experiences to add to your list. Be honest… could you actually make it through the night here? 😂👻

Would you pay $31 for a pumpkin spice latte served inside a REAL pumpkin?! 🎃☕ I tried the viral pumpkin latte at Coffee Barn in Merrick, and they really said forget the cup… give her the whole pumpkin. 😂 The 2026 fall special is a pumpkin spice latte served inside an actual pumpkin for $31, and it’s BIG — Coffee Barn says it comfortably serves about three people. You can even make it extra with a slice of pumpkin pie on top. 📍 Coffee Barn Merrick 2081 Merrick Rd, Merrick, NY 11566 🚆 Coming from NYC without a car? Take the LIRR from Penn Station or Grand Central to Merrick Station, then take a short Uber/rideshare or walk to Coffee Barn. The business specifically recommends this route for visitors coming from NYC. Walk-up orders are allowed when traffic conditions permit, but this is primarily a drive-thru and there’s no indoor seating. ⏰ Hours: Mon–Thu: 6AM–9PM Fri–Sat: 6AM–10PM Sun: 7AM–9PM This is Fall & Halloween Files 08/15 🍂🎃 — 15 fall + spooky-season experiences in and around NYC. So… $31 for a giant PSL served in a real pumpkin — WORTH THE HYPE or absolutely not? 😂👇 #psl2026 #pumpkinspicelatté #viralspot

NYC IS EXPENSIVE… but are you actually using all the perks that come with living here? 🗽 Because why did nobody tell me my LIBRARY CARD could get me into 100+ cultural institutions for FREE?! 😭 And it doesn’t stop there. Your IDNYC can unlock free cultural memberships, NY residents can pay as little as 1¢ at The Met, the Whitney is free every Friday night, NYC Ferry has a $15 unlimited 2-day pass, AND you can score $25 tickets to the Met Opera. Basically, before you tell me there’s nothing affordable to do in NYC, check the perks you already have. SAVE this because some of these are way too good to forget. Which one did you NOT know about? And should I do Part 2 with even more NYC perks?
