I found this footage on my phone from the Netflix showcase that we attended. It was great to see the band who featured on the show on December 10 doing so well now. We are really proud to have had lots of music on this incredible Netflix series. It was in the top five for a very long time and I believe it is still available to watch on Netflix now. This is why we love writing songs and seeing our music featured in film, television and adverts around the world.#Netflix #december10 #simoncowell #TheDunwells #thenextact

Had a beautiful session today with the incredible Jemma Johnson. We’ve been working together for over a year now, and we wrote something today that feels really special. This is just a little look at the song coming together here at Mill Lane Studio. We love collaborating and bringing new ideas to life in this space. Jemma is also playing our very own festival in Leeds! Catch her at the Summertime Festival at Vesper Gate this June.  Tickets available at TheDunwells.com. Go give Jemma a follow! 👇@Jemma Johnson #JemmaJohnson #TheDunwells #MillLaneStudio #SummertimeFestival #VesperGate

Hi everybody! In so many areas of life, technology seems to have taken over. What I really, really love about being a songwriter is that the old and new collide. We still do in-person sessions, but thanks to technology, we’re able to reach so many more people by doing remote sessions on Zoom. We use six-string acoustic guitars and tell stories, and we still sell CDs and vinyl at shows. However, we also now have the ability to create a song in our studio and release it instantly to the world through streaming services. To be honest, it’s a bit of a double-edged sword. AI is now helping us with a lot of the administration of our business, which is a really good thing, but it also makes me a little bit nervous. I don’t want it to take away the areas of music that I love. We still write songs traditionally and still get excited about life, human connection, and the stories we tell. On the whole, I think we’ve got the perfect blend of old and new. @Jenna Louise🎙

Holiday Vibes and Hidden Gems! Hey everyone, still soaking up the sun in Tenerife but wanted to share this cover of "Dakota" by Stereophonics that Joe and I did right before we left! ✈️ This song is a total favorite, but funny story - when I first heard it, it just wasn't doing it for me. It wasn't until that end anthemic "Take a look at me now" part that it really clicked. ‍♀️ But then, of course, it got stuck in my head on repeat! Makes me wonder if Kelly Jones wrote the catchy hook first, or if the melody just came together and that part became magic. Maybe one day I'll get to ask him! What about you? Any songs that surprised you and became total favorites?

"With or Without You"  Who else instantly thinks ofthe TV show "Friends" when they hear this song  Maybe it's from that super emotional scene... Anyway, Joe and I had a blast covering "With or Without You" in the studio  We're loving recording these tracks and the podcast, and it feels like we've found a groove with social media too, thanks to your awesome feedback! Here's the plan: We wanna see you at a live show soon! Let us know where you are coming to see us play the comments?
