After Hours: We Can Be Heroes ⚡️ ️ Following on from last year's sell-out success, Night Garden, we’re back with another after-hours event inspired by our exhibitions Catwalk and David Bowie. We sat down with @Hannah Laing to find out what object Hannah would put in to our 2028 Scottish Design Gallery 🙌🏼 Dundee-born DJ and producer Hannah Laing has become one of the UK’s leading music artists. From Ibiza residencies to major festival stages and @BBC Radio 1. She’s never forgotten her roots and champions her hometown of Dundee and all of the people in it bringing DOOF in the park to our very own city with over 17,000 attending ❤️ We loved hearing about her very first set of decks which she would love to have on display in the museum. 📣 Scotland Fashion Now: Graduate Showcase is less than two weeks away! We caught up with four emerging designers from Scotland’s leading fashion schools and this is a selection of ones to watch 👀 Jonjo Ruding is a Belfast-based unisex designer creating narrative-led collections inspired by growing up during The Troubles. His work explores culture, history and human resilience through powerful storytelling. @Abbie Smith fuses traditional Scottish dress and Highland ceremonial objects with music and subculture, creating dark, atmospheric collections rich in narrative. Eve Sinclair-McNally is a Scottish knitwear designer whose work draws on contemporary dance, exploring the relationship between movement, the body and textile. Oliver Milne is a menswear designer balancing bold expression with subtlety. The iconic look which he wore for The Traitors US was created by Scottish designer @Siobhan | Fashion Designer in collaboration with costume designer @Stylist Sam . We will also put on show the matching outfit for Alan’s dog Lala! Our redesigned Scottish Design Galleries will open in 2028, our tenth birthday year, looking at Scottish design from the past, present and future, and exploring iconic and surprising objects. The project is supported by the UK Government. We want people’s stories to be at the heart of our new galleries. We’re so excited to announce the UK debut of Vivienne Westwood & Jewellery. Opening March 2027, discover the fascinating story of how jewellery has played an integral role in defining the Vivienne Westwood look. The exhibition offers an immersive look at four decades of special archive and runway jewellery displayed together as a collection for the first time. We spoke with Amer Shomali, Director of the Palestinan Museum , via video as the exhibition opened on the important role of museums and collections. 🧵 Thread Memory: Embroidery from Palestine is open until Spring 26 and free to attend. The final moment in the exhibition is a girl’s thobe from Gaza. It was damaged in the targeted bombing of the Rafah Museum.
