Use our app next time you are shopping at your local drugstore and discover new brands at unbeatable price points you didn’t even realize existed! 🚫If a product says “Cruelty-Free,” that means it has not been tested on animals. ✅ there currently is no regulation over the term ‘cruelty-free’. Claims such as “cruelty-free” or “not tested on animals,” or even the simple image of a bunny on a label may only refer to the finished product, when in fact nearly all animal testing occurs at the ingredient level. Furthermore, while a company may claim, “We do not test on animals,” it could still contract other companies to do the testing. 🚫The law requires animal testing for personal care and cosmetics products. ✅Neither the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) nor the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission require animal testing for cosmetics or household products. There is sufficient existing safety data as well as in vitro alternatives to render animal testing for these products obsolete. 🚫If a product isn’t tested on animals, it’s not safe for humans. ✅There are many reliable alternatives to using animals available, including cell and tissue cultures and sophisticated computer and mathematical models. Let’s bust some myths 💥🐰 Leaping Bunny is EARNED, never bought. This is why the Leaping Bunny certification is completely free. Any brand of any size can apply to our program, and if they pass our rigorous audit and commit annually (also always free), they become certified. The only time there is an *optional* one-time free is if a brand chooses to license our trademarked logo. Trademarked logos are protected legally and require a fee to publish/print. The presence or absence of a logo makes zero difference in our program’s resources available to our brands. We love all our family members equally. The only difference is the legal ability to print the logo on websites, merchandise, and marketing. Brands can also choose to license the logo later on down the line if they choose or simply never license it. It’s all up to the brand! We are just happy to have them in our family.
