Football roadtrip ends with a win in Norman! The Cats are already bowl eligible and in the CFP talk! Takeaways from Oklahoma: 1️⃣ OU fans have to be the nicest in college sports. So many people thanked us for coming, congratulated us, and just made a point to say hi. 2️⃣ The stadium is not as loud as I’d have expected for such a great fan base. They got a little loud during the “Boomer!” “Sooner!” cheers but not like I expected. 3️⃣ The stadium logistics inside weren’t great. The aisles are so narrow you can barely get through and the concourses are too narrow for the seating capacity. 4️⃣ The atmosphere outside the stadium is cool. Campus Corner is in a great spot for pregame and postgame shenanigans or you can go to Party at the Palace on the way into the stadium.

Game day appetizer of the week is spicy queso blanco! The flavor is awesome with the perfect little heat kick. You can eat it with chips or do what we did and serve it over some pulled pork nachos. If you don’t like heat, simply leave out the jalapeños and use regular evaporated milk.

Don’t expect your gym stairmaster to come close to preparing you for this monster. 2. Take more water than you think you’ll need. 3. Go early in the morning to avoid the heat. 4. It’s not a race, get to the top on your time. 5. Take time to enjoy the view from the top. 6. It’s just a couple of minutes over to the Leonard’s truck for some fresh malasadas! Spring through fall is perfect for driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, windows down, stopping at overlooks, finding the perfect hike, then finding a cold drink after! This one was Graveyard Fields an approachable 3.25 mile hike that has something for everyone. Trails with small creek crossings, peaceful waterfalls, bridges, slight climbs, and if you come in June rhododendron blooms and berry plants for snacking.
